Regarding Fall Internships at the Council on Hemispheric Affairs
COHA interns are held in high esteem by specialists in the field of U.S.-Latin American and Canadian studies. Its internship program has won repeated awards and other honors, as well as the recognition of many of its former interns who have gone on to pursue eminent careers once they concluded their Washington stays. Because of space limitations, COHA internships are awarded on a very competitive basis. Normally the internship corps consists of about 32 scholars selected from hundreds of applications coming from all over the globe and from every part of the U.S. COHA’s extensive internship program allows it to end up being served by one of the largest and most diversified corps of young Washington-based scholars working in the field of inter-American affairs. Applicants are selected on a rolling basis; however, applying early is often a key factor in being successfully placed. COHA also maintains a small internship program in New York on an extramural basis
